About the event

VIVIAN SYBIL KLEYNHANS – AFRICAN ROOTS WINES PTY LTD (SEVEN SISTERS VINEYARDS & SEVEN SISTERS WINES) Vivian is a pioneer for the black wine industry while equally being a ground breaker for woman owned businesses in her native South Africa. She is the founder and owner of African Roots Wine Brands, established in 2005 with her first brand named Seven Sisters, paying homage to her sisters of which she is forth born.

It was a serendipitous event in 2003 at the American Embassy that first introduced her to the wine industry and the path that would transform the lives of her family and community. Determined to enrich her knowledge of the industry, she pursued a Wine Management Diploma at the University of Stellenbosch Business School and an Entrepreneurship program at the University of Cape Town. She was later appointed as a Director at Wines of South Africa (WOSA). Vivian had initially developed international markets for her wine brands, entering Whole Foods, Super Value, Disney World and Walmart with stores in 42 States. In more than 350 years of South African wine production, the Seven Sisters Sauvignon Blanc had the prestigious honor of being the first South African wine served on American Airlines first and business class in 2009 and later on South African Airlines.
